Description
This basting thread is a slightly more tightly twisted yarn. It is slightly stronger and finer which can make is better for basting seams. It is still helpful for markstitching.
The wide cardboard cop it is wrapped around inhibits the thread from becoming too coiled, especially towards the end of the thread, making it equally useful for it’s entire length. The advantage being on a reel is that it is more portable than a skein of basting thread. The other advantage is that you can cut any length of thread that you want. For example to mark stitch a long seam it can be stitched in one go instead of having to take multiple lengths from the skein.
