Description
The silicon bronze alloy is copper based, so will oxidise. They can leave a green mark on your skin in the same way brass jewellery does. It’s harmless and washes off easily. Some people don’t like it, so there is a nickel plated option.
Nickel plating has a bright silver colour, won’t wear off and will prevent the copper from oxidising. However it is worth noting that about one in five people are allergic to nickel and may develop dermatitis from contact – hence why there are both options. The nickel plating is 5 microns thick, so there is no functional change in the sizing.

I currently have a mixture of an initial and new batch, the only difference is that the finish of the new batch is a little more lustrous, especially the silicon bronze. They won’t be sent with a preference for one or the other.
